A Journey to positivity

JOURNEY TO POSITIVITY

YEAR ONE BY C.J. Whitcomb

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been an angry person. Even as a child, I was mad at the world. There never really needed to be a reason, I'd be angry about nothing. I’d be angry about everything, no matter what it was.

My father was short tempered, so I undoubtedly inherited the trait from him. I had a reputation for being Angry, and short fused. I was tired of it, and I knew that I needed to make a change.

When you’re constantly walking around, pissed off at the world, nothing good can come from it.

Being an angry person attracts a lot of negativities into your life, and these negative things make you angry. It’s a vicious circle of anger, and negativity.

I couldn’t take it anymore, so I decided to let go of my anger. How was I going to do that? Well one year ago today, I started a positivity journal. I went out, and bought a journal, and as soon as I got home, my journey began.

I thought to myself, since I’ve been able to find something to be angry about every single day of my life, maybe, I should be able to do the opposite. No matter how bad my days were, I would find something positive to write in my journal, and so I have. Every single day for the past year, I have found several positive things.

I’m not going to lie and say that I'm no longer angry, but my anger is much less severe than before. Doing the Journal has helped me a great deal, and the people around me can see the difference. Writing these entries has helped me rewire my brain, now it’s easier for me to keep my cool. When I feel anger rising inside me, I think about positive things, and most of the time it helps me calm down.

Starting my positivity journal is the best decision I've ever made, and a lot of positive changes have happened in my life since then. I decided today that I'm going to continue my journal and keep it going for another year. I am excited to see what positivity this new year has in store for me.

Thank you to those who are taking the time to read this. I hope that this will inspire others to make some positive changes in their lives.
