The Noise and the Fifth wave

as of late I've been into reading a lot of sci-fi novels, due to the fact that I'm currently writing a sci-fi novel myself, and I try to listen to the genre that I'm writing so as to stay focused on what I'm doing. so here goes.

first and foremost, I'm a big James Patterson fan, he is my go-to author. as soon as i heard about this book I had to go out and get it. got it at the very beginning of 2023...for starters i wanted to give this one five stars, but I couldn't bring myself to do so. i think the story was great as far as being an original concept. i started out by reading the physical copy of this book and managed to get halfway through it, while the story is original and well written it is a slow read. for short chapters such as these i will normally read 5 or 6 chapters before bed but, with this book reading 2 chapters back-to-back was a struggle. I finished the second half of the book by listening to the audible version. having done so, i enjoyed it, and the ending was phenomenal. in my opinion THE Noise by Patterson, and Barker is truly worth the read/ listen. i gave it a four-star rating on goodreads.com. it was so close to getting five stars from me.

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

back in 2016 i saw the trailer for the 5th wave movie, and it looked awesome. to this day I've still not seen the movie because I knew that it was adapted from a book, and I always want to read the book first.

i was really excited about reading this one, and finally did so the other day. so now getting right into the review.

story was good and it was well written, but the character of Cassie was really mean, just a major B to everyone around her, and everyone who came in contact with her i get it's the end of the world but let's dial it back some a little, Cassie. another problem I had with her character is, her way of thinking.

"Oh yeah, this guy is hot so I know I can trust him, even though it's obvious that I'm his prisoner, I'm going to be in denial about it because, he has a nice face. That's all I'll say to avoid any spoilers for those who've yet to read it, I'll watch the movie next just to compare the two. all in all, not a bad read, but i really don't like Cassie.

good story, but alas I gave it two stars on Goodreads.com.
